Who Will Win The Women’s Paris Olympic Test Event?

Having asked who will win the men’s Olympic Test Event yesterday, today we are turning to the women’s race in Paris.

As expected, Georgia Taylor-Brown has withdrawn from the event and is no longer listed on the start list. Even with her absence, there will still be three WTCS race winners from the 2023 season taking part.

Beth Potter won the season opener in Abu Dhabi and then followed it up with a gold medal in Montreal. Between those events, Sophie Coldwell claimed gold in Yokohama (having earned silver in Abu Dhabi) and Taylor-Brown won in Cagliari.

In July, Cassandre Beaugrand then rattled off wins in Hamburg and Sunderland to join Potter as a double winner in 2023.

As with the men’s poll, the reigning world champion, Flora Duffy, has also been included. Seeing as Duffy has not raced this year, her condition is a mystery.

On the one hand, her lack of racing and lengthy injury lay-off may mean that she is rusty and will not trouble the front of the race. On the other hand, she has proven time and again that she can step up when it counts.

There is also every chance that someone else wins the race. If you think it will be someone else, let us know who in the comments below.
