In case you haven’t heard, WTCS racing starts tomorrow in Abu Dhabi.
Below you will find the information you need for each athlete on the start list. A cheat sheet, if you will.
Note that the data shown applies for Sprint races in the 2022 season. That way, we can bring to bear the most recent and pertinent information for the athletes, particularly as WTCS Abu Dhabi will be over the Sprint distance.
For every athlete, you will find their average position out of the swim as well as their average time behind the leader. The same statistics are also available for the run.
We also have each athletes’ season best finish at a Sprint WTCS race last season. With that it will be possible to see who is outperforming their 2022 levels and who is matching them already in the season.
To finish, we have included the number of Sprint WTCS races each athlete finished last season. The emphasis there is on finished. For example, we can see how Alex Yee swam at WTCS Leeds, but as he did not finish the race his data set is incomplete.
For athletes that did not race any Sprint events, that was rather selfish of them and they sadly have no data to display.
You will find the men’s cheat sheet first and then the women’s cheat sheet below.
The Men’s Cheat Sheet
You will see that there a couple of slight deviations from the first look at the start lists that we previously posted.
Recent bouts of sickness have ruled out Kristian Blummenfelt, Gianluca Pozzatti of Italy and Csongor Lehmann of Hungary. Meanwhile, as half-expected, Marten Van Riel is not racing as he continues his return to racing.
