Yesterday, we surveyed some of the remarkable athletes that have competed internationally in other sports while being elite triathletes.
The majority of the cases were athletes that were elite runners as Juniors. As such, the athletes competed in either athletics or cross country in the same season that they raced internationally as triathletes.
This got us thinking. Will any WTCS athlete compete in another sport, internationally, in the same season that they race in the WTCS?
Long distance triathlon (such as 70.3 or Ironman) does not count here as long distance is still fundamentally triathlon.
In 2022, Hayden Wilde was fairly close to qualifying for the Commonwealth Games in the 5000m on the track. So, could an elite triathlete actually thrive in another sport?
Let us know what you think in the below poll.
(Reminder: “compete in triathlon” in this poll means racing the WTCS)
Check back for the results on Thursday!
