Cassandre Beaugrand won the BUCS Sprint Championships title today with a consummate all-round performance. With the racing taking place in waves, when Beaugrand crossed the line it was not immediately certain whether she had won the title. Her victory, though, was duly confirmed afterwards. Racing for Loughborough University, Beaugrand opened her race with a 4:55 400m pool swim (25m). A handful of Swiss triathletes took on road running races in Lausanne at the weekend. While the 20km race was the premier event on the agenda, three members of the Swiss national team took on the 5km on Saturday. Adrien Briffod finished 4th overall with a time of 14:34.6. Alongside the Americas Cup, the South American Junior Championships took place in Lima. Dominga Elena Jacome Espinoza of Chile took the win in comprehensive fashion in the women’s race. Earlier today, World Triathlon announced the courses for triathlon at next year’s Olympic Games in Paris. Based in the very heart of the city, the races will take in some of France’s most iconic sites.
